In honor of Movember and Flashback Friday’s  I thought we should pay tribute to the one man who has always rocked “The Stache” over the decades. He was handsome back than and is now sexy silver fox. Besides can you think of another man who can rock ‘The Stache’ AND  short shorts.

 

 

It’s Flashback Friday and recently I have been thinking of grungy Rock Stars…

Last week I met up with a friend that I have not seen in while, and the one thing we both love to talk about is music; specifically Metal, Rock and Alternative. We are both fascinated with the Rock N Roll scene and lifestyle. I think he secretly wants to be a Rock Star and I’m on the cusp of wanting to be a Rock Star and wanting to do a Rock Star. Hmm I don’t like hard liquor nor would I ever consider doing hard-core drugs. I guess I would suck at being a Rock Star; so it’s best I just do one.

All that rock talk got me thinking about long-haired hotties and about the first time I saw the video for  Nirvana’s  ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’. I loved Kurt Cobain and I wanted more than anything to be one of the cheerleaders in that video. I loved the black outfits, the hair flying everywhere and the tattoos.  I thought they were badass and I wanted to be badass.  I don’t think I’ve become badass but I know I could kick their cheerleading butts in a head banging competition.

And for old times’ sake let’s watch Smells Like Teen Spirit and bang your head like it’s 1991.

Today’s Flashback Yummo is John Cusack, while in Rome and channel surfing afer a long day of romping around the city we watched ‘Midnight in the garden of Good and Evil’ in Italian. Neither myself or Queen B understand Italian but we watched because we both have a love for John Cusack. I think we both secretly hope that one day someone will show up on our doorstep with a boombox playing a love song.

Today’s flashback Yummo is Chris Cornell.  On April 5th Soundgarden released their first studio recording in 15 years. Their new single ‘Live to Rise‘  will be featured in the end credits of ‘The Avengers’.

Let’s flashback to the era of Glam bands, Cocaine and John Hughes movies..

Today’s Flashback Yummo is Robert Downey Jr. He was first considered for the role of Ducky in John Hughes ‘Pretty in Pink’ but he did not get a lead in a role until 1986 in ‘The Pickup Artist‘. However I think his breakout role was in ‘Less than Zero‘ when he played Julian a drug addicted college dropout, you just can’t help but love him.
